Don't over extend yourself - One of the biggest things people do when they first get into the freelance business is they over extend themselves. What this means is they try to write more articles than they possibly can in a single day and because of this they don't get much accomplished and all the people that hired them will end up mad that they are not getting their articles on time.

Charge per word - If you want to make a decent amount of money and you don't want to be out time and money then you should charge per word you write. The nice part about this is the more words you write the more you will get paid.
